Front Door Makeover

I finally gave the front door a makeover! I thought our black door was drab, and the door hardware was uninspired and dark. And I just didn't care for the light fixture either.

Before

So, I gave it a facelift! New paint for the door (Green Energy by Behr). New door handle (Kwikset, at the Home Depot) and a new light fixture (Hampton Bay, Home Depot).

My Yoga Boy

The kids preschool does yoga once a week with the older kids (How cool is that?) and recently they did a blog post about it. You will see a picture of Emmett on his mat, and further down the page, a quote about his favorite yoga pose.

Motherlove Diaper Rash and Thrush cream

I tried a new diaper rash product recently and I had to tell you about it. It is Motherlove Diaper Rash ointment. My Molly luckily hasn't been one to deal with diaper rash too much. But recently after having a bug that caused some GI issues, and lots of diapers changes, she was definitely dealing with some rash. I really like that this product is made with all natural and organic ingredients. It is also a bonus that the Motherlove company that is environmentally aware and gives back to organizations that support children and the environment.

But anyway, does it work? Well, I put this on Molly before she went to bed, and in the morning, the rash was literally all gone! Awesome! The other bonus for me was that the product doesn't smell strong at all -- there was neither a medicinal smell or a strong herbal smell, which some other products have.
It meets everything on my checklist!
Works on diaper rash? Check!
Doesn't smell strong? Check!
Natural ingredients? Check!
Good company? Check!

I was not compensated for this review. Opinions are completely my own.

Dance!

We went to a wedding this past weekend and Emmett and Molly had a great time on the dance floor. Take a look!

Oh, I also want to make a little plug for buying children's clothes from consignment stores. I wanted to my kids to look nice at the wedding, but I didn't want to spend a fortune. Emmett is wearing Bass shoes from A Wee Bit Used, a polo sweater vest, navy pants, and checkered oxford all from The Red Hen. Molly is wearing a floral dress and white shoes, also from The Red Hen. All of these items were only $50, however, I only paid  $35 since I had some store credit, from selling my kids outgrown clothes, at both stores.

Emmett's first day of soccer

Here is a very short clip of Emmett's first day of soccer. (I actually thought I was taking a picture, but then realized it was on video, so that it is why it is so short).

He seemed to enjoy it! Hopefully that will continue!

Tourist Attraction

Every so often, cars slow down in front of our house to take a closer look. Sometimes they will back up to get a better view. Or even stop and a take picture.

I admit, it certainly isn't something you see everyday.

I haven't seen any before.

I am surprised it has managed to survive as long as it has.

This is the view out our front window.

Our neighborhood albino deer. At least all the snow lately has been his color.

"Snow" Day

It was really more like ice day. Kids school was closed. So we all the spent the day at home. I had grand plans of getting things done. Sheets were in the washer by 8am. Folded load of laundry and put away. Playroom picked up. Then, something happened. Inertia. Followed by Molly wanting to take an early nap. Thought it was a good day to take one with her, so I took a 2 hour nap. It was so nice. Did I mention I have a bit of a cold? So really it was necessary to aid the healing process, right? I thought so too. Somehow the rest of the afternoon sort of flew by and I am not sure what I did with it. Now is it after 5pm and all I can say is that my bed has clean sheets.
